Periodontal Plastic Surgery Clinical Workshop

Course Description

Mucogingival surgery is an area of knowledge within Periodontology that is becoming increasingly relevant given the importance of soft tissues around both teeth and dental implants. Starting with the periodontal or peri-implant state of health, today we have multiple techniques that allow one to improve or recover from mucogingival conditions and other problems. To do this, we must know the etiology and classification of the mucogingival conditions around teeth and implants and then apply the clearest and most appropriate surgical technique.  With this in mind, Advanced Continuing Education Institute is excited to offer the general dentists a cutting-edge and comprehensive course in periodontal plastic surgery. The course is designed for general dentists wanting to add periodontal plastic surgery treatment into their practice. Registrants can customize their course options and are also offered exclusive mentorship and live patient surgery. The ACE faculty has been carefully selected based on their extensive expertise and experience in periodontal and implant plastic and regenerative surgery.

The ACE Surgical Periodontal program is one the most progressive and comprehensive hands-on programs available on the market today. This program will significantly expand your expertise and confidence through practical and theoretical teaching and the skills developed throughout this new and highly regarded course will allow you to increase the breadth and the quality of services you offer your patients base. This practical and theoretical course coordinated and directed by Dr. Boeriu will be directly applicable to daily clinical practice.

This program will be provided by ACE Institute, and ADA, AGD PACE approved CE provider. Space will be limited to allow for a low instructor to attendee ratio and assure an optimal learning experience for all registrants, so we encourage you to register at your earliest convenience.

Methodology

It is a practical theoretical course distributed among diagnostic theory, etiology and description of different surgical techniques with clinical videos about teeth and implants, plus a practical section with videos and hands-on practice using pig jaws under the direct supervision of the speakers. The course takes place over two/three full days: all day Friday and Saturday and until 5:30 pm and Sunday until 12. The first day will deal with diagnosis, etiology and surgical procedures. On the second and third day, surgical treatments for implants will be looked at, ending with hands-on practice on pig jaws and viewing of practical videos on surgery.

Addressed to

This limited attendance course is intended for general dentists and periodontists who wish to learn more about periodontal plastic surgery procedures for the treatment of soft tissue defects around teeth and dental implants. Principles of soft tissue augmentation will be reviewed.  Case presentations, practical hands-on exercises and live surgical demonstrations provide in-depth knowledge about the use of soft tissue grafting techniques to achieve predictable coverage of single and multiple recessions. Furthermore, the treatment of non-carious cervical lesions and altered passive eruption ( cosmetic crown lengthening) will be discussed.
